There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing our brides shine with confidence on their special day. This short video captures one of our lovely clients celebrating her wedding — wearing a gown we meticulously tailored to fit her beautifully.
From the first fitting to the final stitch, every alteration is handled with care, precision, and a deep respect for both the dress and the day it represents. Moments like this remind us why we love what we do.
Real Bride Jessica chose her wedding gown at once and never looked back! She contacted the service for alterations as shortening the length of the dress and taking the sight seams for better fit! Then she asked if possible double butterfly sleeves to be added and that was even more feminine touch to her wedding gown! She was lovely, positive and confident in all her fittings!
Absolutely pleasure to work on this delicate wedding dress and best of all she was more then happy to share her precious wedding photos that keeps the memories and excitement of this beautiful work!
Abbi contacted me after purchasing her wedding dress from Brides in the City (Glasgow), looking for a few thoughtful alterations to help her feel confident and comfortable on her big day. The original gown was quite revealing, so we added a custom tailored skirt underneath to create a softer, more elegant silhouette.
To enhance support, I incorporated delicate spaghetti straps that complemented the strapless design beautifully. We also refined the torso by taking in the seams for a closer, more flattering fit.
The train needed special attention too — we added attachment hooks and loops, and adjusted the length to match Abbi’s vision for movement and comfort.
Throughout the fittings, Abbi was so committed and trusting of the process, which made this transformation truly enjoyable. I’m grateful she allowed me to share her personal wedding photos, showcasing the final look and the care behind every stitch.
Before:
The original gown featured thin straps and a low back, offering little support or coverage. The bride wanted a softer, more romantic look with better balance and comfort.
After:
Light chiffon sleeves were delicately added to create a graceful drape and elegant movement. The neckline and back were reshaped for a refined silhouette, and the fit was adjusted through the waist and hips for a seamless flow.
The result — a timeless, airy design that complements the bride’s shape beautifully while feeling comfortable all day.
Before:
The original prom dress featured a dramatic multi-layered tulle skirt with an extended length that overwhelmed the wearer and made movement difficult. The hemline sat too low, hiding the beautiful structure and volume of the gown’s cascading layers.
After:
The skirt was carefully shortened, layer by layer, to preserve the original shape and flow of the dress. Each tier of tulle was re-balanced to maintain its airy volume while giving the gown a more flattering, proportional silhouette.
The result — a polished, elegant finish that highlights the dress’s stunning design while ensuring the wearer can move comfortably and confidently.

Precision tailoring for mens formal wear
Mr Melville came to Nice Alter with a request unlike any other — a waistcoat made from the tartans of multiple clans from his family line, each one representing roots carried through many generations. Inspired by the bold style of Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir, he created his own layout and brought it to us in hopes of turning it into reality.
After visiting several tailors who said the design couldn’t be done, he finally found someone ready to take on the challenge.
Each tartan held meaning, so every panel had to be positioned with precision, ensuring the colours, lines, and history of each clan were respected. We carefully cut, matched, and assembled the fabrics, crafting a waistcoat that not only looked balanced but carried the story of his family in every seam.
Mr Melville was so delighted with the final result that he ordered a second waistcoat to send to his grandson in New Zealand — continuing the family legacy across generations.
This bride’s creativity went far beyond traditional bridesmaid styles. She envisioned dramatic silhouettes, statement details, and a look that felt straight out of high-fashion runways. Her dream was to enhance classic elegance with oversized bows, voluminous structure, and beautifully puffed sleeves.
With the original fabric no longer available to purchase, one of the gowns had to be completely redesigned using two separate dresses — a complex challenge that required precision, careful reconstruction, and an eye for couture shaping.
The final dress became a standout piece — the kind of design you’d expect to see in a fashion editorial or a luxury boutique. Rich colour, sculpted volume, and refined tailoring came together to create a bold and unforgettable bridesmaid look for summer 2024.
The rest of the bridal party wore individually styled single-look dresses in different colours, forming a vibrant “wildflower bouquet” effect that celebrated each bridesmaid’s uniqueness while staying beautifully coordinated with the wedding theme.
This project blends artistry, technical craftsmanship, and a truly original creative direction — proof that bridesmaid fashion can be just as expressive and memorable as the bridal gown itself.
